Dear All
My question is can i embedded surface elements in axisymmetric elements ( in 2D model )
because when i try to create rebar layers in surface section using CAE i dinot find the surface section in the sections list when in assign sections
my model is 2D axisymmetric model , the host elements are CAX4R
please help as i didnot overcome my problem yet

I am not an expert at all, but I have kinda your same problem. I chose to
model the reinforcement through CAE. I am defining 3D lines for the
reinforcement and giving them a Truss section (so you can specify their
area). Then, in the interaction property, I embedd these element into the
concrete. It is working. The problem and the question is? I am

I got a problem with the embedded elements and I couldn't
solve it

/Explicit. My concrete structure is buried in soil and subjected to dynamic
loads
All what I did through the CAE related to rebar
1- Property module: I defined the steel properties
2- Property module: I defined a surface section: and hence the
rebar
