Dear all

I am in very bad need for any help in this problem

I got a problem with the embedded elements and I couldn’t solve it through the manuals

I am modelling a concrete structure and I want to define the reinforcement bars inside it , my model is axisymmetric model in ABAQUS /Explicit. My concrete structure is buried in soil and subjected to dynamic loads

All what I did through the CAE related to rebar

1- Property module: I defined the steel properties
2- Property module: I defined a surface section: and hence the rebar layers
3- Interaction module: I defined the embedded region and the host region and they are the same regions exactly???

Then the run aborted by this error

(189 nodes on an embedded element do not lie in any host element. Check coordinates, exterior tolerance and absolute exterior tolerance parameters, and the host element set definition. The nodes have been identified in node set ErrNodeEmbeddedNode.)

when I check the inp. file i didnot find the option *Rebar layer !!!!!

Please can you give me a hand to solve this problem?

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this,

Hi NN,
I am not an expert at all, but I have kinda your same problem. I chose to
model the reinforcement through CAE. I am defining 3D lines for the
reinforcement and giving them a Truss section (so you can specify their
area). Then, in the interaction property, I embedd these element into the
concrete. It is working. The problem and the question is? I am probably
modeling perfect bond between concrete and steel. How to model the bond
slip? This, I don't know.

Yes that meight be in 3D but my model is 2D axisymmertic model so i need to define them as surface section *rebar layer and embedded them into the solid axisymmetric elements
how can i do that
please any one can help it will be very appriciated because i stocked now

according the slip bond I think in * concrete damage plasticity model you can you * tension stiffening to do that as i doubet about perfect bond between them ?

hi all,
i have done the modelling concrete as solid and reinforcement as
truss..and i used embedded option to specify the truss elements and
host elements are concrete solid elements..i am sure that i have
created section properties and assigned to the solid and truss(area)
in parts seperately and i have created instances in assembly
module..but i dont know analysis aborted with an error that beam
section properties are missing for all truss elements.

Dear All
My question is can i embedded surface elements in axisymmetric elements ( in 2D model )

because when i try to create rebar layers in surface section using CAE i dinot find the surface section in the sections list when in assign sections

my model is 2D axisymmetric model , the host elements are CAX4R
please help as i didnot overcome my problem yet

modeling perfect bond between concrete and steel. How to model the bond
slip? This, I don't know.

through the manuals
I am modelling a concrete structure and I want to define the
reinforcement bars inside it , my model is axisymmetric model in ABAQUS
/Explicit. My concrete structure is buried in soil and subjected to dynamic
loads
All what I did through the CAE related to rebar
1- Property module: I defined the steel properties
2- Property module: I defined a surface section: and hence the
rebar
