Writing Nodal results to File

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to write the results of one node to a file (e.g.
the .rpt file) over the history of deformation. I am trying to plot
the Reaction Force at a node for every increment of teh analysis.

I am aware that it can be done using a query and then saving the
results to file, but this method is rather tedious as the results at
the node have to be appended onto the file at every increment.
Hopefully theres an easier way to go about this.

Tkanking you in advance

Refer to the ABAQUS/Viewer User's Manual, in particular, the sections
covering the plotting and printing of X-Y data (e.g., chapters 2, 17, and
22). See also *OUTPUT,HISTORY.

Regards,

Dave

Dear Pmcallen,

You can create an XY-Data set from field output. Just follow
these steps to extract history output of a particular node
(or even node set to a file):

1) From the 'Tools' menu, click on 'XY Data' and select the
'Create' option
2) Check the 'ODB Field output' option and click 'Continue'
3) In the 'XY Data from ODB Field Output' window, select the
position as 'Unique nodal'.
4) Check all the required vairable you need to extract (your
case, it should be CF2 under group CF)
5) Select the 'Elements/Nodes' tab and choose 'Nodes' in item
and select 'Node Labels' for selection method. In the 'Labels'
input box enter the nodes for which you need the output. Note
that there are a few examples shown underneath.
6) Also donot forget to check the steps/frames for which you
need the output in the next tab.
7) Click 'Save' and the data should be saved to XY-Data.
8) All you need to do now is take report from the 'Report->XY...'
menu option.

Hope this helps.
Good luck
