Hello,

The file that I want to launch on Abaqus is of a significant size and I have problems with the memory size of the scratch files

Here the message which I have in the .msg file:

" Unable to complete file write. Check that sufficient disk space is available. File in use at failure is filename_metsp.stt ".

I use the split and spill_list parameters for the extensions: .fct, .opr and .uft. But Abaqus refuses me the use of these parameters for the .stt extension.

How can one solve this problem?

Is it possible to define the size memory of the scratch directory?

Thank you by advance for your answer.

Best regards

Hi Philippe,

You can do 2 things:

1) Change your scratch directory to a your working directory by
using 'scratch="<path to directory>"
eg. scratch="c:/shashank/work"

2) Increase the frequency parameter on your *restart card so that
the size of the .stt file stays in check.

cheers
