You can use DC3D8 in a coupled thermal-displacement analysis if you want to
model a rigid, immobile region, where you only care about the temperature
field. But in general, you should use C3D8T for coupled
thermal-displacement analysis.

Post by Lijie LiHi Dave. Thank you very much for answearing my question. But can DC3D8 be
used in coupled thermal-displacement analysis? Because diffusive heat
tranfer elements are only used in uncoupled heat transfer analysis? I am
sorry if I ask some stupid question. but thank you very much for your help.
DC3D8, or C3D8T if you're doing a coupled

Subject: [ABAQUS] Thermal analysis element type
Post by abaqusboyHi all. I am doing thermal analysis at the moment and I use the element
type C3D8IT. But the data file say this element type is not supported.
Does anyone know why and which element should I use for thermal
analysis?
Thank you very much for your help.
