I have a very simple question, yet very intriguing, how does Abaqus calculates the reaction forces RF for a plane stress problem?
Thanks in advance

The reaction forces are calculated based on the thickness input in the *Section definition. By default, the thickness is 1.0, so the output is force per unit thickness. However, if you define the true thickness, then the output will be total force.
