Hii every one.

I want to draw a pipe with outer diameter of 150mm and inner diameter of 140 using excursion shell option. In the sketch I draw a circle with 150mm diameter. So, when I assign the section of 5 mm think what option should I choose bottom or middle or upper surface? So that the pipe will be as required?

Has to be upper...but be careful of normal....My advice is make the
circle as 145mm dia and use middle. That is the most accurate one...

For further clarifications,  I doubt may be my questions are too basic, please could you explain,

1, what happens if outer surface modeled and assign normals pointing towards inside of pipe ?
2, If mid-surface is modeled, in which direction normals should be set ? & why?

Regards,

If the location of the nodes (inner diameter vs. outer diameter),
surface normal, and surface assignment (bottom vs. top) aren't
consistent, then your pipe will be larger or smaller than you intend.
If you model the mid-surface, then the normal doesn't matter (unless
you're doing contact).
